UGV - Underground Ventilation
- In the early 1980’s Mr Fred Dewson established FAL Constructions, the pioneer of Steel Fabricated Ventilation Devices. In 2005 Walter Diversified Services Ltd (WDS - Walter Mining) purchased the business, keeping its skilled workforce, including Gary Steuart who had been the Workshop Manager since 1986.
- The business continued specializing in the design and manufacture of Ventilation Devices, hiring experienced Business Manager Paul Clemente in 2006. The business continued to service its customers predominately the Underground Coal Industry until the closure of WDS.
- In response to requests for the supply of Ventilation Devices from the South Coast District Collieries, Paul Clemente in conjunction with Gary Steuart formed Underground Ventilation Pty Ltd (UGV) in 2015.
- UGV continues to specialize in the design and manufacture of Ventilation Devices from the same Unanderra premises where FAL commenced. Products such as:
- Pressure rated Overcasts with ramps or stairs and/or deflectors
- Louver Regulators manual or hydraulically controlled including provisions for remote control
- Airlock chambers 2Psi, 5Psi and 10Psi
- Rubber mesh regulators
- Pressure rated Vehicle Doors Manual and Hydraulically operated
- Man access doors 2Psi, 5Psi and 20Psi
- Baffle Boxes (Coffin seals)
- Portal doors – Mine Sealing Emergency Doors
- Self-Opening doors for use in Booster Fan Installations
- Custom designed Ventilation Devices
UGV manufactured Ventilation Devices are precision made on 3D welding setup tables, providing an accuracy of .01mm.
Which means that replacement parts will conform perfectly.
